Here is another one of those forgotten incidents that deserved to be remembered. In 1945 a Mosquito broke up over the the suburbs I have been living in for ten odd years. Two airmen died as a result. I'm sure the TAFE students at Petersham have never noticed the memorials in the school grounds, or if they did have I'm sure they haven't the faintest clue what it is all about.

I was passing by the TAFE the other day - it was during school holidays so I snuck in for a look. Right where the memorial should have been, there was nothing. Is it possible it's been removed over the last 60 years? I hope not. I hope it's sitting quietly in a verdant corner somewhere, awaiting rediscovery.
