After my trip to Melbourne, the Golf has a new nickname - Wolfie the Bug Smasher. Kir (my SO) and I nicknamed him Wolfie, after Wolfsburg, the spiritual home of Volkswagen. Somewhere between Sydney and Wangaratta we had a run in with a swarm of gnats, the exoskeletons of many of them now adorning Wolfies front end, having come off second best in a contest between entmology and Das Deutsche Auto Technologie.
